PARTY PLANNING TIPS

LET ME HELP!

Hi! I know from having done thousands of these shows, some great guidelines to follow to make sure this is a wonderful time and all goes great. Experience is the best teacher, but sometimes the lesson is too costly. Better you should learn from my experiences than making your own mistakes.

There’s only one birthday party a year in your child’s' life and you want to get it right!

So follow these tips and all will go great:

-Whatever time you invite everyone for, don't expect everyone to be there for at least 45 minutes to an hour later. It doesn't matter whether they're coming from across the street or across town. People can never get to parties anywhere near close to the time they're invited. I know from long experience to expect them to dribble in. Yes, they're your friends and family and you've known them for years, but trust me that some will be late!

-Because the weather even in beautiful sunny California can be unpredictable; the best shows are always indoors. If in a park, choose a park with an indoor recreation room. The kids can run around and play outside before and afterward the show, but call people inside to eat and see the magic show. If it is a beautiful day, it's not a problem that the show is indoors, but if for any reason the weather isn't absolutely perfect, it is a definite problem if you planned it for outdoors. Too hot and too sunny is just as bad as cold and wind! Kids can't sit still for a show if the sun is beating down on their heads or a breeze is giving them a chill.

-Try to feed the kids before the show, but save the birthday cake for afterwards. Some kids can be more than a handful and with something to eat on their stomachs they won't be so hyper. A belly with some food in it will calm them down and keep them from fidgeting during the show.

-If you'd like, I can signal you when my show is just about to end and you can get the birthday cake ready. When I finish, I'll lead the kids in singing Happy Birthday and you can have the birthday child blow out the candles and serve the cake and open presents then, or let the kids run around and play some more at this point.

-Two and half to three hours or so from whatever time you invited everyone for, it could be time for everyone to go home. People will praise you for having such a great party if you follow these simple guidelines and you will have warm wonderful memories to last a lifetime.
